Our team was created when the fall of 3 teams happened around pretty much the same time and was very opportune for myself to start rounding up talented players and see what we could do together. It basically followed the current trend of TF2 with the recycling of players in the upper echelon but I was trying for something more concrete this time around, rounding up select players that I knew from theses teams who had no problem losing games, trying out new strategies, and becoming a family. With the fall of Area 51, Stackers Union, and Dejavu I had a very solid pool of players to try and recruit. I first approached Anthony(JAMMAR) from the recently dead Area 51 to be the first scout on the team, agreeing to give the team a shot I continued to bide my time and wait for good moments to approach players. After recruiting multiple players the roster started the become obnoxiously large harboring over 13 players, including 3 soldiers,4 scouts, 3 demomen, only 1 medic, and other utilities. Since then our roster has been effectively thinned to 7 players, our current roster.
Rebuilding
Our roster has changed considerably since the beginning,with the demoman taking a backseat due to school, along with Freight Train. In addition, we also had a new medic join us who was an old friend of Otters which meant he fit right in.Furthermore I changed from soldier to scout allowing me to pick up a brand new player to the whole upper tier of tf2. I approached sephy after hearing about him from a good friend of mine and a good friend of the |AG| community, Aaron (someguy), so I decided to do some investigating and asking around and eventually got enough feedback to make me want to give him a good tryout.To my amazement sephy wasn't even interested in joining us! Having given up tf2, but through the power of annoyance he eventually decided to give us a shot and we loved him. He must have liked something about us as he joined the team soon after. Our new roster was born with the exception of another friend of mine, You Must Recover. Mason was on Stackers Union with me, a team that was comprised of basically complete unknowns with the exception of myself and Jack Frost, who had searched really hard recruiting the best of the lower tier that he could find and managed to create a TWL-invite level team that was able to compete but not really win any matches.The team died mid season due to some internal problems and that left our demo(recover) out there but not as unknown as he used to be. I asked Mason to join us and he quickly accepted giving us our solid roster that we have to date. We are very confident in our upcoming seasons.
The Sponsor Search
Or the nightmare I should call it. I spent the better part of three weeks dealing with the task of trying to explain to multiple organizations why they would benefit from sponsoring us, almost none pursuing my propositions until mobility took a second look. They had all the connections to support our team and we had the publicity to sport their name, but they weren't holding up their end of the deal not offering us a server or mumble, which made us part our separate ways.I continued searching until I saw a very unlikely post on GotFrag. A community team was reaching out to the competitive community in an attempt to expand their own knowledge of the game which sucked me right into talking to |AG|. After a while of talking, I proposed my offer and we are where we are at now, at our welcoming message.Being solely interested in TF2 and some L4D makes this the ideal place for us, we are completely dedicated to this game and will be dedicated to |AG| the same. We are VERY excited to be part of the |AG| community and believe we can give as much as we receive.
