"Apocalypse" is from the Greek word for "revelation" which means "an unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling" (Goswiller 1987 p. 3).
The above definition is the foundation and concept behind Apocalypse Gaming Community or better known as |AG|. AG does not ask for any financial support for services but simply ask for general support and assistance in making AG a success for the whole TF2 community. We are here to teach and be an inspiration to those many gamers out there who just simply want a little more out of their gaming. At AG we have the qualified people, the game servers and the communication servers to provide you with a quality learning environment while having fun and meeting new people. Here is what AG can offer you.
Mentoring Programs
|AG| has a specialized competitive Mentoring Program to enhance the regular gamers’ skill. All of our mentors have experience with various classes and competitive play. Not only do our mentees get one on one time with a mentor they can also be integrated into our low/mentoring team so they are able to implement their new learned skills into a team format. This is a crucial piece of the support and learning in a competitive style. Furthermore, we do not require our mentees to be official AG members as we want our mentoring program to be easily accessible to anyone who wants to improve their game play which is the focus and foundation of our community. Competitive Teams
AG offers several means of support. Full sponsorship means private scrim server, voice communications server (mumble), page on the website, forum space, entry fees to competitions, team uniforms and much more. Semi-sponsorship for AG members means scrim server time, voice communication server (mumble), page on the website and forum space. Semi-sponsored non AG member’s means the teams get scrim server time and voice communication server (mumble) if needed. The best part is that all the teams have a whole community to support and cheer them on in sourcetv relay’s and mumble our voice communication server. Learn more about AG's teams listed under Teams.
Supportive Environment
We would rather have a small, strong, active community than hundreds of non-active members. Therefore, an application process and mandatory orientation session is required before coming an "official" |AG| member. This is to ensure that |AG| members understand what is expected of them to ensure that we keep this concept alive and well. We also will dismiss any non-active members every 6 months to ensure quality control. In the end, having a strong community benefits everyone.
Enhanced Gaming Experience
With our high quality servers our goal is to attracted public players into the world of competitive TF2. |AG| has a public death match server where a lot of our competitive team members hang out and warm up before matches. To join up to our deathmatch server please click here. We also hold a special 6 vs 9 event about every two months. 6 vs 9 means 6 competitive players against 9 public stars to play 3 pre-chosen maps. The game can be viewed through a Source TV relay that can hold up to 250 spectators at one time and also with mumble support so people can gather and cheer on their favourite players. This has been a huge success and is becoming one of |AG|’s favourite events.
